General Procedures:
The form, colour, and size of spores are distinctive traits used for mushroom classification. To prepare your sample, start by placing a drop of water on a clean object slide. Use the inoculation loop to stir in a few spores, then cover it with a cover slip. Place the slide under the microscope to observe the spores.

Alternatively, you can place a drop of spore solution from a spore syringe directly onto the object slide and cover it with a slip. If using a spore syringe, we recommend shaking it well to ensure the spores are evenly dispersed in the solution.

Ensure that the microscope is positioned on a flat and stable surface for accurate viewing.
